  • What DJ Equipment Do You Use?
Poor equipment is a clear sign of an amateur DJ and is something no one booking a professional service should have to worry about. Unfortunately, when planning an event, it’s essential to vet your vendor’s professionalism in advance— because a DJ is only as good as their gear. Even the most skilled DJ can’t compensate for subpar equipment. Crackling speakers and a cluttered, unsightly setup will overshadow flawless music transitions. Guests won’t remember the mixes — they’ll remember how the sound hurt their ears and the equipment detracted from the atmosphere. At Slipbeats, we use only state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring exceptional sound quality and a clean, professional presentation. No tangled wires, no faulty speakers — just seamless entertainment you can trust.
  • What Are Your Payment Terms?
No deposit is required only an electronic signature to confirm the booking. Payment Terms: Payments can be made at any time with the final balance due the day before the event. Payment methods accepted: BACS Card payment online via your portal Cash
  • Will the DJ Take Requests?
We gladly accept song requests and often incorporate many of them into the event. However, we carefully filter these requests to ensure they align with your preferences. If a guest requests a song or genre you’ve marked as a “Do Not Play,” rest assured it won’t make the playlist. Conversely, if a request fits the vibe and complements your selected music choices, I may choose to play it. Remember, I am an experienced professional who knows how to energize the dance floor and avoid tracks that might clear it. Unlike DJs who rely on pre-made sets, I will adapt in real-time, responding to the crowd’s energy to keep the celebration lively. To make planning seamless, we also offer an online system where you can specify your music preferences and must-play songs ahead of time. This ensures everything reflects your vision, with no surprises on the big day.
  • Can We Bring Our Own Music For the DJ to Play?
Partnering with a professional wedding or event DJ is a collaborative process. I will respect your musical preferences and be flexible enough to accommodate them. To ensure everything runs seamlessly, we typically request your music selections in advance. Proper planning is key to a smooth and enjoyable event. While it’s possible to add songs during the event, it’s far easier and more efficient to prepare them beforehand. By providing your requests ahead of time, we can ensure every track is ready to play on your big day. Our event planning software makes it simple to submit your selections and preferences in advance. That said, if inspiration strikes on the day, we’re fully equipped to adapt and add songs in the moment. At Slipbeats, we strike the perfect balance between being thoroughly prepared and staying flexible.
  • When should I book my DJ?
A good time frame is at least six months before the event. However, we do have dates available for last minute events as well. Contact us for availability.
  • How many songs should I request?
Our online planning system allows you to select songs you’d like to hear at your event, as well as those you’d prefer to avoid. Login information for the system will be provided in the email accompanying your contract. The number of songs you request is entirely up to you, but we recommend providing your DJ with at least 10–15 tracks that represent different genres and artists you enjoy. Sharing a few songs or artists you’d rather not hear is also helpful. If you submit a lengthy playlist, keep in mind the time constraints of your event. During your initial consultation, I will discuss your music preferences to ensure everything aligns perfectly with your vision.
  • Should we feed the DJ?
Providing a meal for the DJ is not a requirement in our contract and is entirely at your discretion. In most cases, the catering director or event coordinator will arrange for a meal or boxed dinner if it’s requested by the client.
  • Do you have samples of your work?
We don’t share our wedding or event mixes, as each event we curate is uniquely tailored to the client. However, we do provide a few photographs of our setups to give you a glimpse of our professional presentation. We do have a few reviews on Google, Facebook, Add to Event and on our website.
